Free Style Vase
Time Remaining:

Dutch product designer, Jonas Samson, has built a body of work which at first glance looks radical, and the very next moment familiar and warm, and then just outright charming!

Not one to design things cause they simply look nice, Jonas Samson requires a purposeful existence in his creations such that they have redeeming value. The Free Style Vase is a perfect example: by combining craftsmanship and industrial production methods, he can apply his method to both raw and recycled materials to create an unique object every time.

The blow-moulded Free Style Vase is made by pressing air into PVC and pre-form tubes (the by-product from which soda bottles are made). Thus raw, industrial materials are transformed into new, stylish products. This makes the vases easily reproducible, but every vase is unique as the shaping is only partly controlled in production, leaving the final form to chance.

One winner will receive a Jonas Samson Free Style Vase.
